What is CODA?What is CODA?
CODA stands for the Central Oklahoma Directors Association. It is an association of central Oklahoma school band programs. The membership of CODA is a combination of two ALL STATE regions – CENTRAL and SOUTH CENTRAL. The auditions are held simultaneously with the first round of ALL STATE auditions. Each year the CODA holds auditons in early November for several regional honor bands. Currently, there are two bands for grades 10-12 (Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band), one band for each, grades 7-9. The clinic/concert is held in early January. The Wind Ensemble is a group of approximately 60, each of the other bands have approximately 100 members. Over 2000 students complete for membership in the CODA Honor Bands. It is the largest regional honor band organization in Oklahoma and has hosted clinicians from Oklahoma public schools and universities and from universities across the nation.
